New Hampshire's Best Alcohol-Free Bar
If you've been looking for a non-alcoholic bar in Nashua — or anywhere in New Hampshire, for that matter — The Spot is what you've been searching for. We opened at 217 Main Street in downtown Nashua because we believed the city needed a proper social venue that wasn't built around alcohol.
We're not a juice bar. We're not a coffee shop that closes at 5pm. We're a full-service social lounge that happens to serve zero alcohol. The drinks are complex, creative, and genuinely satisfying. The atmosphere is real. The music is live. And nobody is going to look at you sideways for not drinking.
What We Actually Serve
Our full menu is built around three things: kava, craft coffee, and creative mocktails.
Kava is a naturally calming, non-alcoholic drink from the South Pacific made from the root of the Piper methysticum plant. It produces a mild, relaxing effect without any impairment, hangover, or addiction risk. We serve it in traditional shells and in modern blended kava drinks. It's earthy, smooth, and genuinely relaxing — a lot of people describe the feeling as "one glass of wine without the wine."
Mocktails at The Spot aren't the sad "virgin" versions of normal cocktails. They're original recipes named after Nashua landmarks — The Mine Falls Mule, The Greeley, The Pennichuck. Real flavors, real craft, zero alcohol.
Coffee from Anchorhead Coffee out of Seattle. Espresso, lattes, cold brew — all the coffee options you'd expect from a serious coffee bar.
Who Comes to The Spot
Because we're alcohol-free, we get a different mix of people than you'd find at a normal bar — and honestly, that mix is one of the best things about being here.
People who are sober or sober-curious and want a real night out without the pressure
Health-conscious people who want to socialize without the effects of alcohol
All-ages groups who can't go to a traditional bar together
Music fans who want to catch a live show without fighting through a packed bar
People who have work the next morning and need to keep it together
Kava enthusiasts and anyone curious about what kava actually is
Live Music, Events, and More
Beyond the drinks, The Spot is Nashua's most active small venue for live entertainment. We host live music every Friday and Saturday, plus open mic nights, DJ sets, trivia nights, karaoke, comedy, and community events throughout the week. Most nights have no cover charge.
If you're looking for something to do in Nashua on a Friday or Saturday night that doesn't involve sitting at a bar drinking beer you'll regret, this is the answer. We stay open until 1AM on weekends, which means you can actually make a night of it.
Why Alcohol-Free?
Our founder, Mike McDowell, has been sober for over 18 years. He built The Spot because he wanted a place where people like him — and people who just prefer not to drink — could have a genuinely great social experience. Not a compromise. Not a consolation prize. A real venue where the drinks are interesting, the music is good, and nobody thinks twice about the fact that there's no alcohol.
The alcohol-free movement is growing nationally, and Nashua now has its own answer to it. If you've been part of that movement — or if you're just curious what a night out without alcohol actually looks like — come find out.
